BioBTX Reaches Major Milestone for Commercial Circular Aromatics Plant

July 23, 2026

BioBTX has taken a positive Final Investment Decision (FID) for the contruction of its Circular Aromatics Plant in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. With this decision, the company takes an important step from technology to commercial implementation.

Once operational, the plant is expected to produce approximately 10,000 tonnes of renewable BTX (benzene, toluene, and xylene) per year from plastic waste streams. This represents an important contribution to the development of a more circular chemical industry.

Zeton is proud to be involved in the realisation of a section of the PETRA project and looks forward to working with BioBTX during this next phase.
