Small Scale Commercial Plants

ADVANTAGES OF ZETON'S MODULAR DESIGN AND FABRICATION
APPROACH TO SMALL SCALE COMMERCIAL PLANTS

In addition to lab, pilot and demonstration scale plants, Zeton's modular scale know-how has been applied to small scale commercial plants for a variety of applications. These can include small volume
specialty chemical production units, plants for producing market development/introduction quantities of new materials for larger volume markets, as well as pre-built modular facilities to replace or augment
existing facilities where space is an important consideration.  The following points summarize the key advantages of Zeton’s proven design and fabrication methods for modular small scale commercial plants:

1. Zeton performs the preliminary and detailed design as well as fabrication of the modular plants at the same location.  This provides total control over plant delivery.  Our European and Canadian facilities consist of an engineering design office and a modular plant fabrication facility.  This enables efficient design of the plants with less detailed design documentation and therefore less cost to fabricate the plant.

2. Zeton has proven many times that our integrated "Fast Track" single source, design-build modular approach saves both project time and manhours by reducing unnecessary internal co-ordination documentation thereby saving our clients money.  We’d be happy to discuss how this very productive technique works in practice.

3. Zeton provides the detailed design and fabrication of modular plants, on a lump sum, fixed price basis.  This controls our client’s costs and eliminates the uncertainties and risks of cost overruns.  Compared to engineering and design services normally provided on a reimbursable basis, the risks associated with outdoor jobsite construction, including weather interruption, productivity and labour relation threats, all are eliminated.

4. As a sole source supplier of modular plants, Zeton is responsible for the detailed design, procurement, mechanical and electrical fabrication, control system configuration and testing.  This eliminates any potential problems of quality, functionality and indeterminate responsibility when different parties supply the design and various components of the plant.

5. Zeton is broadly experienced in the specification, configuration, programming and installation of control systems for modular plants.
