Zeton Participates in Heatwave 2010 Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser
In May, two teams from Zeton's Burlington operation competed in the Halton region "Heatwave 2010" charity beach volleyball tournament, an annual fundraising event in support of childhood cancer research by The Hospital for SickKids Foundation. It was a day packed full of smiles, sun, sand, socializing, and of course, beach volleyball. Zeton's inaugural participation in the tournament was a showcase of amazing feats of athleticism, co-ordination, camaraderie and good-sportsmanship (not necessarily in that order). Congratulations to "Zeton 1" for placing third in the Competitive division, and "Zeton 2" who proved that winning isn't everything in the Recreational division!
The event was also a huge success off the court, with a total of $2,153 being raised for SickKids in fundraising pledges and tournament entry fees through a combination of staff and friend donations, and a generous contribution from Zeton Inc. Hats off to the Zeton social committee, in particular Mark Moss, for organizing the event, and congratulations to everyone at Zeton who contributed and participated in its success.
