Over the past twenty years, Zeton has emerged as a world leader in the design of pilot plants, manufacture of pilot plants and installation of pilot plants.  Zeton is comprised of two sister companies, Zeton Inc. (located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada) and Zeton B.V. (located in Enschede, The Netherlands).  Zeton's presence in North America and Europe enables it to provide complete pilot plant, demonstration plant, small scale commercial plant and process intensifcation technology across the globe.

Zeton is in business to provide state-of-the-art lab scale reactor systems, pilot plants, demonstration plants and small scale
commercial plants as well as unequalled design/build know-how in scale-up of technologies plants for the process industries.  Our unique and specialized know-how focuses totally on that all important stage from innovation through early market development. 

One area of expertise for Zeton is the oil refining industry.  Equipment for this market ranges from hydrotreating to dewaxing, as well as FCC to catalyst deactivation.  A second area of specialization is pilot plants and demonstration scale plants for polymer production.  From polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC to acrylic co-polymers, polyurethane, polycarbonate and ethylene-styrene interpolymers, we have tested and scaled up processes employing slurry, solution, emulsion, plug flow and gas phase reaction technologies in batch or continuous reactors ranging from 0.1L to those producing 100 kg/hr.

Zeton also has extensive experience in pilot plants for the chemicals industry.   Many companies turn to Zeton when developing new chemicals for a high volume, low margin market which requires a different approach than for a low volume specialties.  Zeton’s experienced engineers understand these differences and, with their creative ideas, they can offer you design solutions and options that may just make the difference in the success of your project. 

Zeton is very active in the field of Alternative Fuels and Gas To Liquids technology.  We are proud of partnerships we've forged with technology developers in state-of-the-art projects in the area of Gas-to-Liquids (GTL), AutoThermal Reforming, fuel cells and projects related to renewable energy sources, such as biomass conversion technologies and Biodiesel production plants.

In environmental processes R&D, Zeton has designed and supplied units for applications such as micro porous membrane filtration, pervaporation, electrocoagulation, wet air oxidation (COD), CFC adsorption, supercritical water oxidation, sour gas cleaning and catalytic waste water cleaning.

Still another focus for Zeton is equipment for the bio, foods, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.  And finally, Zeton  has developed considerable experience and expertise from projects undertaken for the hydromet extraction of nickel ores for customers in North and South America as well as Australia.  Zeton works closely with some of the leading mining consulting engineering companies to ensure our customers can obtain quality design and construction expertise in this important segment of the mining process industries.  High pressure acid leach pilot plants and pressure oxidative hydrometallurgical pilot plants are among the projects we've undertaken in this area.

In addition to lab, pilot and demonstration scale plants, Zeton's modular scale know-how has been applied to small scale commercial plants for a variety of applications. These can include small volume specialty chemical production units, plants for producing market development/introduction quantities of new materials for larger volume markets, as well as pre-built modular facilities to replace or augment existing facilities where space is an important consideration.
